A Brief History
The Democratic Club of Rossmoor was organized in the Spring of 1966. First
it was a section of the Walnut Creek Democratic Club and officers for this
section were elected in May of 1966. The meetings were held in the classrooms
(later, multipurpose rooms) at Gateway.
The club grew and eventually held regular meetings in the Peacock Room. When
the Democrats outgrew this room, meetings were moved to the present location
at Hillside.
The club was called the Rossmoor Democrats and chartered by the Contra Costa
Democratic Central Committee, the official Democratic entity in the County.
Just a few years ago, the name changed to The Democrats of Rossmoor.
Our membership has steadily increased
to the current number of over 800.
